Our Services
Rehabilitation therapy provided in our SE Portland clinic or in the comfort of your home* with a focus on balance and eye teaming to help improve stability, prevent falls, and enhance overall functional independence and safety. Balance impairments can result from various factors such as muscle weakness, joint stiffness, sensory deficits, and cognitive changes. A therapist assesses the individual's specific needs and designs a personalized plan to address their functional abilities and, collaboratively, create an individual plan of care to address areas for improvement that are meaningful to the individual.

Strength Training
Strengthening exercises for the lower extremities, core muscles, and upper body are often included in the treatment plan. These exercises help improve muscle strength and endurance, contributing to better stability.
Balance Exercises
Targeted balance exercises are a crucial component of therapy. These may include standing on one leg, walking in tandem, or performing movements that challenge balance.
Fall Prevention Strategies
Education on fall prevention is a key aspect. This may involve teaching patients strategies for getting up safely if they do fall, as well as environmental modifications to reduce fall risks at home.
Flexibility Exercises
Stretching exercises to improve joint flexibility and reduce stiffness can be beneficial. This is particularly important for maintaining range of motion in the shoulders, neck., ankles, knees, and hips.
Postural Correction
Specialized treatments aimed at improving alignment of the neck, back, hips and knees to decrease pain and enhance overall quality of life.
We work closely with our clients, and, if warranted, involve family members and/or caregivers to ensure that the therapy plan is effective and sustainable.
Vision Therapy
Vision is more than just seeing clearly - it's about how your eyes work together, focus, and interpret information. Vision therapy offers a non-invasive, holistic solution for a range of visual issues.
Gait Training
Gait (walking) training focuses on improving the quality of walking patterns, stride length, and step coordination. Techniques such as heel-to-toe walking walking backwards, and side-stepping may be incorporated.
Functional Activities
The therapy plan often includes practicing everyday activities that challenge balance, such as getting up from a chair, turning around, or walking on uneven surfaces.
Home Exercise Program
Patients are often given a home exercise program to continue their progress between therapy sessions. Consistency is crucial for achieving and maintaining improvements.
